Hi everyone, I am Merwin, an automation specialist with 7 years of experience in the IT industry.

Experience

Integrations and automation

I have hands-on experience developing and designing API integrations, connecting systems like webservices, Salesforce, SAP and databases.

I have also built up knowledge in automation such as banking reconciliation using Robotics Process Automation technology, and I have done freelance work automating lead generation, meeting notifications and content repurposing, using make.com, Zapier and n8n.

I am known for being reliable, quick to adapt, and a strong problem-solver, and I keep learning and applying new tools to deliver more value.

The n8n email classifier

One of the most complex automations I have built used n8n to connect AI services, webhooks, Google Sheets and Gmail to classify incoming emails, identify urgent messages, and prevent duplicate processing.

The main issue was inconsistent AI output and duplicate records. I fixed it by standardizing the AI output using structured parsing, adding validation checks, and using Google Sheets to track processed emails. The workflow became more reliable, manual email sorting dropped, and important messages were identified and handled correctly.

Off the clock

Sports and the gym

Outside of work I play sports and go to the gym. Basketball and pickleball are my usual games.
